I was at work today with the head of our public relations department. We were looking at and editing pictures that have recently been taken for a new line of advertising. Most of these finalized pictures will end up on our website or advertising promotions we do but some will even make it to billboards around town. These pictures will be edited, revised and critiqued several times before being put on any website or billboard. Amongst the conversation of what picture looks better with what background for this add or that add or banners I realized that in no way shape or form have I ever used anything close to this software at school. I will say this is only a small portion our public relation directors job and that every other aspect I have seen him do I have some sort of educational experience I can associate with it. But in the end this is still a part of his job. I doubt I can answer an interviewer with “well that’s only a small part of the job I don’t really need to know that.” and we are only a local business I can’t begin to imagine what nationwide companies especially marketing businesses have available to them.  The computer lab computers we have at school are Windows XP Professional computers. They are everything one would need when writing a research paper. The downside of our school computers is they don’t exactly have editing software comparable to that used by today’s businesses. CS5 Is Adobe’s basic photo editing software used by many small businesses with a system requirement of -

This is a basic photo editing software used by many small businesses. Even the addition of something like this would allow student’s exp communication and marketing student’s the real life experience of what many businesses use daily.

Apple Pie Shots

What you will need

• 1 fifth of Everclear
• 1 gal. Apple Juice
• 1 gal. Apple Cider
• 4-8 Cinnamon Sticks
• 4 Cups of Sugar
  
  Mixing instructions
  

1. Mix the apple juice, apple cider, sugar, and cinnamon sticks together.
2. Boil until cinnamon sticks lose flavor.
3. Remove from heat, let cool.
4. Add Everclear, and stir.
5. Refrigerate.
6. Add more Everclear if you want it stronger.
7. Add more sugar if you want it sweeter.
8. Throw it in the fridge and let cool over night.

This video has been out for awhile put out by Will Ferrell on his internet web site funnyordie.com. Although This video sparked a lot of controversy with a two year old using curse words and caring a beer around I think it is a very funny video that in no way will adversely affect pearl. Many are ridiculing the parents for coaching peal into the use of curse words but when it comes down to it this is the choice of the parents not those upset. Watch for yourself and decide but all I see is a very funny Will Ferrell video.

This is accurate to a degree with a few exceptions such as my parents obviously have kids and they are not so much hunters. I like how under lifestyle traits it just assumes we all go hunting with guns and read Bassmaster. Also my parents and I hate NASCAR! As far as income job types home ownership ect it is somewhat accurate.

NASCAR spoof

Second year NASCAR driver Adam Pemberton has just won his first Daytona 500. “I was going fast and sometimes I was turning left!”  He told a reported when asked how did you win it.  Adam formerly of Springfield Illinois now resides with his wife and 14 German Sheppard’s all named Tiny in there mansion located in Daytona Florida. What made you decide you wanted to be a NASCAR driver?

“Well I’m not really athletic what so ever so a real sport was out of the question. But one day I was flipping thru the channels when I came upon a NASCAR race and the announcers were talking about how much money the drivers made. I thought to myself hell I can drive a car fast and well here I am.”

Most drives take years to work their way up thru the race circuit before they get a shot at NASCAR. Yet you were somehow able to jump right in and do it.

“I played a lot of need for speed as a kid. It’s like a racing game for the playstation ya know so that prolly had a lot to do with it. I also had a go-cart I wrecked it about a week after I got it but for that week no one could beat me.”

With a net worth thru the roof between race winning commercials endorsements for Budweiser not to mention all of the NASCAR merchandise Adam Pemberton reported a net worth of 22 million last year. With this being only his first year in the sport Adam is certainly someone to keep an eye on in future races.

NFL Big Hits

The NFL is looking at the way the game is played today in regards to so called big hits. This previous weekend with an abundance of big hits and a Rutgers college football player becoming paralyzed the NFL is looking at ways to enforce helmet to helmet and big hit penalties. With these penalties being able to result in suspension many players are concerned in the fact the league is not defining what exactly a big hit consist of. No player intentionally wishes to permanently harm another but the game itself is an aggressive sport where injuries do occur. Cardinals S Adrian Wilson

The bottom line is being a football player is not a requirement it is a privilege. No one makes these athletes play the game they chose to. Although no one wants to see an athlete injured it does happen. They know the risk involved before ever stepping out onto the field and yet they chose to anyways.
